This book introduces Iina Marja, who lives in a village in Lapland. Iina-Marja's day begins with morning lessons. The she and her mother board the seaplane and fly over the water to Raittijä rvi, their second home in the Arctic wilderness. At Raittijä rvi, Iina-Marja helps make dinner, goes fishing on the lake and, at the end of the day, chats to her father by the fire in the goahti (tent).
