David Morgan has had a passion for motor sport from a young age, buying a 1934 Austin Seven with his third month’s salary whilst living in North London, a few miles from the original Lotus works in Hornsey. David built a number of Austin Seven and Ford powered competition specials, contributed to the 750 Motor Club Bulletin and Historic Lotus Register magazine, and in 2009 wrote “Seven Fifty Motor Club – The birthplace of modern British motorsport” published by Haynes. David has enjoyed competing in club motor sport for more than fifty years, latterly, in John Cooper’s first Austin based special and a Lotus Eleven Climax. David is an architect in private practice, and lives in Hertfordshire.
